About Me

I am a 29 year Nurse who obtained my BSN at Baylor University in Texas. My Masters is in International Health (MSHS) from Trident University in California, my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is from The University of San Francisco with a focus in Executive Leadership. My tutoring experience is vast having trained hundreds of medical technicians and allied health students. I have precepted hundreds of novice nurses within a Nurse Internship program within the United States Air Force. I also oversaw 5 nursing courses to include Labor and Delivery, Operating Room, NICU, Critical Care, and Emergency Room Nursing Fellowships. I have been a Chief Nurse and am now a consultant to hospitals where I teach nurses and medical staff every day all over the nation. My personal specialties are Infection Control and Prevention and Med/Surg, both of which I have my board certifications in for over 20 years. I can tutor virtually any nursing course, with my forte and favorites being that in Leadership, Med/Surg, and Infectious Disease components. My teaching philosophy and tutoring style is that of teaching, coaching, and mentoring and helping each other learn concepts within nursing school that meet the learning style of each student. I love to travel, playing all kinds of sports (soccer and volleyball especially), I love being a proud Auntie of 8, and I have two rescue fur babies who are my joy! I am a retired Air Force nurse after 25 years of service and I love being a nurse more than I could imagine loving any other profession. I know we need nursing instructors, and I want to pay it forward to our next generation of nurses! :)
