About Me

As a social worker turned educator, I have been working with children in various settings for almost 30 years. I began my journey working with children and families in and out of the classroom, making sure that their needs were being met. This led to educating communities throughout my state on various topics such as child safety, child development, family development as well as early childhood education. After having my daughter I realized that I wanted to be a full-time educator which led me to lead preschool teacher working on the basic foundations of our curriculums. As with my students, I found I was always curious and yearning to learn more so I decided to pursue my elementary school teaching degree with a focus on special education. While working on this degree I had the wonderful opportunity to be a paraprofessional and help students learn at their own pace and focus on their skills. Throughout the 6 years I was in the school system I worked with students with many unique skills and learning styles. For the last 5 years I have been teaching exclusively online 1:1 for elementary reading, writing and math as well as other common core subjects. My main focus is on the students unique needs and help them learn at the pace that is right for them.
