About Me

I am a graduate of both Brooklyn College, CUNY for my Bachelors in Geology and Queens College, CUNY for my Masters in Education. Aside from my more than 30 years of teaching and tutoring experience, I am well-traveled (parts of Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Caribbean) and multi-lingual. I am passionate about my profession, ever searching for the best ways to help my students learn. I tutor a broad range of subjects, mostly in the areas of mathematics and the sciences. I am most passionate about Earth Sciences and Astronomy, Chemistry and test preparation for the SAT and ACT in Mathematics. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests, I always am engaging my students in the problem-solving aspects of these examinations, ever honing their strategies to be successful. As a tutor, I firmly believe in engaging with and learning about how my students think and learn so that I can adapt my strategies for maximum success. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading which enriches my life, enjoying time with my family, relaxing on a beach, and learning. I am a life-long learner, and I always encourage my students to learn from their own life experiences.
