About Me

Japanese language and culture has had an enormous impact on my personal life and career trajectory. Ever since my first study abroad in Wakayama prefecture in 2014, I've been deeply interested in the cultural perspectives and practices in the natural landscapes of Japan and I am currently pursuing a masters in landscape architecture to further explore that interest. While I am a graduate student of landscape architecture, I have also tailored my degree to include graduate level studies of Japanese language to further refine my ability to network into Japanese-affiliated opportunities in research and industry. I don't believe I would have had the confidence to pursue the opportunities that I do today if not for my skill in Japanese language. I have many teachers and mentors to thank for it, and it is my hope that I can teach and mentor in the same way as a tutor.
