About Me

I am graduate of Eastern Michigan University, I recieved my Bachelors in Japanese Language and Culture. Master of Teaching from Marygrove College and a Masters of Library Science from Wayne State University. I spent one year in Japan, doing a study aboard. After graduating college with my undergrad, I went back to Japan to teach English for two years. Have been teaching Japanese to 6-12 graders for 21 years. I grew up in a bilingual household, so Japanese is my third language, I love learning other languages and cultures. I love to teach my students the way I learned Japanese in high school, giving them lots of examples, mnemonics, or fun ways to better remember things. I have always believed that in order to learn a language, you need to learn about the culture. I enjoy discussing my time in Japan with my students and talk about the amazing culture. Hobbies: reading, traveling, music, art, travel, books, writing
