About Me

I became a PTA and certified personal trainer because I love to help people and I hope to bring that passion to Varsity Tutors! I graduated from Baylor University with my bachelor's degree in 2011 and from Pima Medical Institute in 2015 with my associates of applied sciences. I have been a licensed PTA for five years and am also a certified clinical instructor. I have also been a certified personal fitness trainer for eight years. I tutor for the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) for PTAs and various personal training certification exams. My experience as a PTA, clinical instructor and group fitness instructor has given me the tools I need to adapt to different learning styles. I can teach to kinesthetic, auditory and visual learners. My teaching philosophy is simple: plan to succeed. Without a plan in place, studying can become an uphill battle. I encourage my students to make schedules and to set goals for their learning. I also encourage my students to quiz and test often in order to determine their level of retention. I have many years of experience taking various licensing/certification exams and can bring both my study habits and relaxation techniques to help you be successful on test day. In my spare time, I love to be with my family, exercise and read. I am a highly motivated person that is full of energy and excitement! I can't wait to help you on your journey towards becoming a better student!
