About Me

I am a 7th/8th grade math teacher (at least 6 years) and before that taught 6th/7th grade math for 8 years. I tutor students from 3rd-college age in math and love working one on one with students of varying abilities. I am able to tutor math from elementary math to Calculus. I earned my Bachelors of Arts in Economics at the University of Illinois in Champaign. I earned my Masters in Education at North Park University. My teaching philosophy centers on a student centered approach. My tutoring style is laid back, allowing the students to show me what they know already and then to help them address any weaknesses to build their math knowledge. I also like to help students develop their math confidence which can lead to increased mastery.
