I enjoy teaching. As a professional, my favorite part of the job was teaching other people how to use Excel. I love teaching and am currently a building substitute at a junior high school. I enjoy solving problems and helping others learn new things.

I recently graduated from Saint Mary's College of Notre Dame where I received a Bachelor's of Science. I majored in Chemistry and minored in Biology and received an American Chemical Society certified degree. This fall I am attending graduate school at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to receive my PhD in Analytical Chemistry. Someday I want to work for a biotech or pharmaceutical company. My tutoring experience has been unique because I have tutored students ranging from second grade to senior year college students where I primarily cover STEM (Science, Math, Engineering, and Technology) concepts. Recently, I have been a TA in chemistry and biology college level courses. My hands on experience has helped me become a better teacher because I use many different types of real world examples for students to learn and grasp concepts. I know every student can achieve greatness through hard work and when someone supports them along the way. In my spare time, I enjoy going for walks, listening to music, watching Netflix, and being outdoors.

I have a well-rounded education that includes an AA (with emphasis in Robotics from KCKCC in Kansas City, Kansas), a BLS (in Communication and Visual Arts from BGSU in Bowling Green, Ohio), and an MBA (emphasis in Business Administration from University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas).I have been passionate in helping students achieve a basic learning knowledge on various subject matters (but specifically in the mathematical environment) from Kindergarten age through College age for the last 34+ years. I am currently teaching High school Algebra 1, Geometry, and Math Modeling and Reasoning. I have a minor in Math, a BS in Elementary Education, and a Masters of Education in Administration. I chose to teach math because I feel that teaching students how to use math to solve problems is valuable. Tutoring students to become proficient in math literacy is important to me. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.

I earned my Bachelors degree from Illinois State University, my Masters degree from Concordia University, and I am a Nationally Board Certified Teacher. I tutor Math for many different ages. My goal is to help make math easier for students and help them learn to persevere and problems solve when they come across difficult problems. I always try to relate the math to something that my students are interested in to help make the concept as easy as possible.

Hello all! I am a graduate of the George Washington University with a degree in Sociology, Psychology and Journalism. After graduation I spent five months in Spain teaching English as a second language to six different groups of students and two private clients. I am passionate about improving the reading, writing and speaking skills of my students. I embrace challenge and am interested in a wide variety of subjects - sports, history, english and art. Tutoring is an opportunity to show a student just how smart they really are. I love being able to show students that all they need is the right teacher to be able to understand all the material they are struggling with. I was the type of student who did not do well when I paid attention to the teachers. I had to figure out my own way to learn which caused me to understand everything in a variety of ways. This helps me as a tutor because I can teach topics many different ways. My passion is teaching math because it's so underrated for how creative and invigorating it can really be. I tend to spend just as much time giving my students confidence as I do actually teaching them. I have found that without doing this, most students will understand everything, but they will retain nothing. So in the end, it doesn't help them to sit through all the tutoring and put forth all the effort unless they are confident that they can do the work on their own.

I hold a Masters in Education specializing in secondary education, but I've worked with a wide variety of student demographics: K-12, college/university, returning students, ESL/ELL, gifted and/or reluctant learners, etc. I enjoy the challenge of stepping outside of my comfort zone in terms of teaching assignments, and I believe my passion for being in the classroom rubs off on my students. My teaching philosophy includes having a learner-centered growth mindset that takes into account students' social-emotional health and personalized learning needs. I enjoy both the in-person and virtual classroom, and am a passionate advocate of both standards-based learning and the STEAM curriculum. As a tutor, I am here for you, or for your child, to help them succeed academically and ease the stress of being a student.My major in Sociology made writing and editing papers second nature for me, and my major in Dance taught me how to be creative with problem-solving and teaching.My best tutoring subject would definitely be essay writing/editing because I know what a good paper should look like. Friends have come to me in the past to help them edit not only essays, but legal documents! Additionally, my high scores on the ACT show that the ways I prepared for my ACT were successful, and I can help you in the same ways.Previous teaching experience includes teaching choreography! I have taught young kids ages 3-6, musical theater kids with little training, as well as highly trained collegiate dancers. I understand the need to adjust my teaching style depending on the level and age of my students.Interests outside of academia include dance and music. I was Co-Captain, Vice President, and Social Media Manager of the Tulane Shockwave Dance Team, the official dance team of Tulane University.
