I am a University of Miami MFA alumni and recent graduate from Brandeis University, with a passion for writing and helping others. I have experience in the field of psychology and creative writing, and especially enjoy helping students with grammar-related projects, narrative essays, and poetry.

I'm a recent graduate of Georgia State University, with a degree in Business Administration. Math has always been my favorite subject, especially Algebra because of the understanding of formulas and how they work and relate to the world around us. I'm a believer in allowing the student to work through the problem so I can observe the way the student approaches a problem, then we move forward from there. I allow the student to make mistakes in the process, so we can reconstruct that process to tackle the problem. Mistakes are the passageway to success in my books, so let me help your student become confident in his/her abilities! Outside of work, I love dance, music, and adventuring outdoors.

Over the course of my career, I have held many positions - from waitress to lawyer to presidential campaign staffer. I graduated at the top of my college and law school class and passed the California Bar on the first try. Reflecting upon my varied jobs, I realize that inherent in each one is a responsibility to train and teach others. That responsibility, simultaneously humbling and exhilarating, is where my passion lies. I love using my education and experience, coupled with multimedia tools and tricks of the trade, to help others reach their full potential.

The best way to learn is through play! That's my philosophy. It's the way I learn best, so why not teach that way as well? I like to take my students on a journey of curiosity and investigation until they reach their own conclusion. I spent my childhood running through some of the best and biggest parks in The Bronx letting my curiosity lead the way. While reading, I focus on methods authors use to keep my interest and show my students how to use those methods to improve their own writing. I find the history of our country and our planet to be amazing and have developed projects that make learning about it more interesting. I must admit that like many students, I hated math growing up, but somehow math found its way into my heart (throughout my ten years of teaching) and it refuses to leave!When I am not teaching, I am swimming, dancing, or singing out loud and off key. I try to incorporate fun and laughter into my life whenever possible and LEARNING IS THE GREATEST PART OF LIVING!

I am currently an ESL teacher to children from the ages of 4 to 16 and I also teach American Sign Language to the deaf and deaf/blind in the Dominican Republic. I have been tutoring the children privately for over 20 years, teaching ASL for 10 years, and teaching English for 4 years. I have learned 2 languages (Spanish and ASL) and I am currently studying for the LSAT so I have experience on both sides and this allows me to put myself in the child's shoes and show patience and understanding when they are frustrated and want to quit, this is a completely natural feeling and one that should be acknowledged so the child can better overcome it and move past it to reach their goals. I am able to adjust to the needs and learning style of the student, each student learns differently and has unique strengths and weaknesses that need to be considered. I personally enjoy learning and work hard to convey this to the student so they can find learning an exciting adventure rather than a trial to be endured. I am happy and more than willing to teach older students, I simply have been working more with children for the last 8 years and have more experience in this age range. But if you are an adult and don't mind if I occasionally forget you are an adult and try to get you to dance in class as a reward for a job well done please don't hesitate to reach out. :-)

I attended the University of North Florida and received a Bachelor Degree in Community Health. I received a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University. My favorite subject to tutor is Reading because its comes naturally. I tutor students in most subjects that are Language Arts/Reading and Health based. My interests outside of tutoring include refurbishing old things like wood projects, sewing, crafting and singing. I have been tutoring for the last fifteen years at all levels.I believe in the age old saying that states, "Reading is Fundamental," and I believe that every child has the ability to learn. It is my goal to ensure that students learn strategies to overcome their reading deficits, but more importantly that they love to read.

Hi, my name is Darnelle Crenshaw El and currently, I am a 5th and 6th grade math teacher in the Cleveland area. I graduated cum laude from Case Western Reserve University with a double major in History and Sociology. I have previously tutored middle schoolers at my school, as well as middle schoolers while in college in math and ELA.

During my years as a student, I had a hard time remembering concepts and terms. I had a near perfect attendance record, but still struggled with performing well on tests. I thought to myself, why was this happening?Students have so much pressure to perform well on standardized tests. We cram with flashcards, pull all nighters, and even sacrifice our social time to prove to the world that we retained what we learned that year.But are we *actually* learning? My goal as a tutor is to make your studies enjoyable. I love to use visual and real world examples to help you grasp difficult concepts. At the end of our sessions, it is my mission to make sure that you can not only solve sample problems, but actually understand your coursework on a deeper level!

My name is Ben Broner and I am a student at the University of Chicago. I grew up on the upper east side and attended the Dalton School in Manhattan. My whole life I've enjoyed math and science but what I am really passionate about is teaching others. I've worked in all different areas from coaching to teaching, and if you want someone who will be relentlessly positive while also capable and engaged I'm your guy.

I have been tutoring since I was in Middle School. I really enjoy helping students that are struggling. It's my goal to help the students really understand and enjoy what they are learning. It's really fun when you finally understand the material.On my free time I like to go hiking.
