As a passionate educator with a Master's degree in Media Education from the University of West Georgia, I have over two years of tutoring experience, complemented by more than 25 years in the classroom. My specialties include English including poetry and writing across various grade levels and subjects, phonics, STEM, particularly hands-on experiments, executive functioning skills, learning differences. I believe in creating tailored learning experiences by engaging students in conversations to understand their unique learning styles and interests. This student-centered approach not only fosters a supportive environment but also helps students see the real-world applications of their studies. I am particularly enthusiastic about helping students with college application essays and improving their writing skills. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, particularly weeding which most folks find "different", reading and researching topics I know little about. I often incorporate some of the learning and/or research processes into my lessons to spark curiosity and creativity in my students.

Reading-I read a variety of topics but I especially enjoy mysteries. Going to concerts Gardening-There is something so satisfying about seeing plants grow or weeds cleaned away. Getting rid of the weeds helps enhance the beauty of the garden. Meaning I like weeding! Volunteering--I love helping others through community service. Learning-If I read something, see something on television or hear someone talking about a subject I am not familiar with, I go straight to the Internet and research it.
