Certified Tutor

I received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Art with a focus in Graphic Design in December of 2015 from the University of Montevallo. I tutored students in math as a high school student and all throughout my college years, and after graduating from UM I became the sole math tutor at the Poarch Band of Creek Indians Education Department. I have now been a math tutor and teacher for over twelve years and have an extensive amount of experience tutoring students of various ages, backgrounds, and learning styles. My students typically range from PreK to tenth grade, including elementary and middle school math as well as Prealgebra, Algebra I, and Geometry.

I love teaching mathematics because we can check our work for correctness and be confident that our answer is true. My favorite aspect of being a tutor is watching a student's confidence level build and grow, as they discover they have the capacity to solve challenging problems. During sessions I ask my students a lot of questions, which helps them to think critically and remain engaged in the lesson. I look forward to meeting you and helping you grow in your knowledge and application of mathematics.
