I have always been passionate about passing on the knowledge I have gained, owing to the fact that I learned a lot from my own father when I was younger. I was a voraciously curious child and my father was an engineer in college while I was many years younger, and I would always pose many an inquiry as to how the world worked the way it did. His ability to answer when he could just drove me to greater curiosity since he approached every question with welcome intention to help me through it. Because of that I have always wanted to help people the same way I was helped, to grow my internal curious nature, so that I myself could grow as a human and continue to learn. Surprisingly I didn't do well in school prior to my high school years, but after that I took off and would land on the Honor Roll all four years, and further join the top 14% of my graduating senior class. I went on to the University at Buffalo in New York to pursue a degree in my favorite subject of science, especially that of physics. During my work I further decided to obtain my degree in pure mathematics, while also specializing my physics degree to mathematical physics to really make math a large part of my studies.
During my undergraduate studies, I tutored at the school's Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Center for Academic Development Services (CADS) tutorial lab where I spent quite a few years leading one on one tutoring sessions, to a special group session twice weekly known as the Math Table. Students coming to the Math Table simply stopped by to drop in on my ( and a few other tutors) open office hour like time to get help on their math related queries. Eventually I took part in the EOP summer program which took incoming High School students and gave them a 3 week college like experience of taking classes and living in dorms. I was a teaching assistant at the time for the algebra class, and then the Calculus class, to eventually one year teaching the algebra class directly as the lecturer.
After my undergraduate I decided to pursue a Doctorate in Particle Physics from the same school as my undergraduate due to finances. During this time the classes became more advanced and theoretical, while the math was adjusted accordingly, learning the mathematics alone was a monumental task to understanding the physics processes I had to write my dissertation on.
While my terminal degree is in physics, I have always love teaching mathematics more, especially calculus, and most specifically vector calculus. The love I have for spatial reasoning made for a perfect match in understanding the material. Similarly I enjoyed linear algebra for comparable reasons, imagining everything as vector spaces came naturally, and I want to share my love of these mathematics with the world.
