After earning my BS in Chemistry from NYU with a double major in History, I went on to earn a PhD in Chemistry at Stanford University. I have been tutoring since high school, in a wide range of subjects including Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Essay Writing, and History. I am also experienced in standardized test preparation, particularly for the SAT, ACT, and GRE. I have led 1-on-1 tutoring sessions in both undergrad and graduate school and have taught undergraduate classes of 20-25 students at Stanford.

I like to start by gauging a student's level of knowledge and their goals for the subject we are learning, then building a solid base of knowledge and tactics for success. I then scaffold new skills by building on previous sessions, ensuring that students learn at a pace they are comfortable with. I like to offer time during sessions for students to practice what we are learning, so I can make sure they are on the right track.

I believe that students learn best when they are engaged in the material and see its application in their own lives. No matter the subject, I always try to make sure that students find the value in learning so that they become lifelong learners. While I have a long track record of improving grades and test scores, I feel most successful as a tutor when students get excited about what we are learning together.
