As an English teacher with a Bachelor's in Language Arts Teaching from Ball State University, I have over two years of classroom experience and a decade of tutoring in English Language Arts. My specialties encompass high school and middle school reading, writing, grammar, and SAT Writing and Language. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a supportive environment tailored to each student's unique needs, particularly in reading comprehension, an area where many students struggle. I thrive in one-on-one and small group settings, where I can witness significant growth as I implement targeted strategies, such as using visual aids to enhance understanding of texts. My passion for literature fuels my commitment to instill a love for reading in my students, and I actively engage with them by discussing books that resonate with their interests. I take pride in my dedication to continuous professional development, ensuring I remain informed of effective teaching methods that meet my students where they are.

Outside of school and tutoring, I enjoy reading, especially thrillers and suspense novels, as well as young adult novels that are marketed towards the students that I teach. I also have a dog who loves to play outside and go for walks.
