Certified Tutor
I hold a B.A. (French, Government) from Wofford College, an M.A. (French) from Middlebury College, and a Ph.D. in Romance Languages from the University of Georgia. It was during my time as a graduate teaching assistant at UGA that I discovered my passion for working with students. After earning my doctorate, I served as an adjunct professor at Auburn University before transitioning out of academia in 2005 to focus fully on teaching.
Since then, I have worked as a full-time Upper School French teacher, teaching all levels of Frenchfrom beginner to post-AP courses. During the summer, I coordinate student exchange programs to France and serve as an AP French Language and Culture exam grader for the College Board.
I take into account each student's learning style, interests, and needs, and I adapt my teaching approach to support their individual growth. My goal is to foster success and build confidence in every learner, whether they are just beginning their language journey or already possess advanced fluency. I am passionate about sharing the richness of the French language and culture and find great joy in watching my students grow into confident, capable linguists.
