Michael: Costa Mesa tutor
Certified Tutor
I am an incoming student at the University of Chicago, planning to major in Computational and Applied Mathematics and Economics. I've worked with students by assisting peers at my school and through a nonprofit organization I co-founded, which offers free academic support to underserved communities. These experiences deepened my belief that strong mentorship can change a student's academic path. I tutor subjects including Calculus, Physics, and standardized test prep in math. My approach is patient, structured, conceptual, and adaptable. I tailor each session to the student's learning style and focus on building confidence through real understanding. Outside of academics, I train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and weightlifting and served as captain of my school's congressional debate team. These interests have taught me discipline, focus, and adaptability, qualities I bring into every session to help students reach their full potential.
I enjoy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, weightlifting, debate, reading philosophy and nonfiction, and exploring applications of mathematics in the real world.
