I am a graduate of Sam Houston State University. I received a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement and Police Science. I'm also a graduate of Amberton University. I received a Master's of Art in Counseling. Since graduation from SHSU, I moved to Dallas Tx and went to work at The Texas Department of Criminal Justice/Parole Division. I was a Parole Officer assigned to supervise adult felons. I worked there for 16 years and finally decided to get into Education. I was big into sports growing up. I played football from 6th grade to 12th grade. I also played Lacrosse in college (Sam Houston State). When I moved to Dallas I hooked up with a Men's Lacrosse Club and played with them for the next 20 years. I'm a big Dallas Cowboy, Mavericks, Stars fan. I met my wife in Dallas and got married. I have 3 sons. Two of them are currently enrolled at Arkansas University. I started my education career with the Dallas Independent School District in 2004. I was hired as a Special Education Teacher. I have worked with many students with different disabilities or the last 21 years. I have taught many students how to read and write. Most of them made a lot of growth in these areas. Most of these students were in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. I love working with students that feel like they will never learn to read and write. I make them feel like they can do it by being positive and supportive. I have had many of my students pass the STAAR (Texas) test. I help students prepare for Standardized Tests. I also use the Dibels Reading Assessment to monitor reading progress of the students I work with. I can tutor students in math and reading (K through 5).
