My personal education history also includes my love of learning! When I felt held back in the school setting, I rushed off to the library to check out as many resources as I could carry to study and read about every topic I could imagine. Now that library services are fading and the digital realm makes this easier, I'm like a kid in a candy store with what I can learn about online. I've taken many online courses from Martial Arts and Pilates instruction, to learning about Artificial Intelligence, updates to HTML5, best practices in writing Python code and website development to be both responsive to multiple device types as well as inclusive in regards to best practices for accessibility. I'm the first person in my birth family to prioritize education, working to build up the savings to pay for my college studies out of pocket without going into debt. While in college I studied Political Science, earning a Bachelors of Science, with a minor in History and my focus studies were on Physics and Mathematics. Also, I earned a Bachelors of Arts in International Studies with my minor in Business and I studied foreign languages. Currently, I study many foreign languages as a way of relaxing and enjoying learning new words--I am a word geek! I'm also working, life long, both paid and volunteer experiences in literacy tutoring, computer science and tech skill tutoring with both adults and children.
