When I first began learning Spanish, I fell in love with the languagebut I rarely saw teachers who looked like me, and often felt I had to prove I belonged in language spaces. That all changed when I had an amazing high school teacher who truly saw me, mentored me, and gave me the space to grow. They made Spanish feel alive, personal, and full of possibilityand I've been committed ever since to creating that same space for others. Later, I had the chance to travel abroad and connect with Spanish speakers from different cultures. Using the language in real-life settings expanded my worldview and deepened my belief that Spanish is more than just grammarit's a bridge to connection, equity, and empathy. My teaching philosophy is rooted in that experience: every learner deserves to feel seen, confident, and inspired.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Psychoeducational Studies with a Minor in Spanish from Howard University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Honors. I've worked with learners from Pre-K through high school in classrooms, churches, camps, and DEI spaces, always centering joy, inclusion, and cultural relevance. Although I tutored Spanish in college, I currently teach Pre-K, but I'll be transitioning to middle school Spanish in a few months. I teach the whole student, tailoring each session to their needs, learning style, and goals. My tutoring supports Spanish learners in areas like grammar, vocabulary, writing, conversation, pronunciation, and homework help. I also work with first-time learners and enjoy incorporating cultural exploration and immersion into my sessions.
