Savanah: Smithtown tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Brigham Young University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Family Life. I have spent several years working closely with students in both academic and mentorship settings, including leading research teams and supporting undergraduates in their personal and educational development. I am especially passionate about helping students build confidence in their academic abilities and discover their individual learning styles.
I tutor a variety of subjects, including psychology, writing, and study skills, but I am especially drawn to tutoring topics related to human behavior and critical thinking. Psychology is my favorite subject to teach because it empowers students to better understand themselves and the world around them. I believe in a tutoring approach that is collaborative, personalized, and encouraging. My goal is to meet each student where they are and help them make meaningful, sustainable progress by fostering both competence and curiosity.

Undergraduate Degree: Brigham Young University - Bachelor of Science, Psychology
Outside of academics, I love spending time outdoors and staying active. I enjoy hiking in the mountains with my husband, going boating during the summer, and running as a way to stay grounded and energized. I’m also an avid reader of nonfiction and love exploring new ideas through books and conversations. Some of my favorite moments are spent with friends and family—whether it’s a casual game night, a weekend trip, or just catching up over dinner. I value meaningful connections and try to bring that same sense of support and encouragement into every tutoring session. I am excited to support students on their academic journey and help them achieve their goals through consistent encouragement, clarity, and care.
