Supporting students on their academic journey is one of the most rewarding experiences I've had. I'm passionate about helping students because I understand how transformative education can benot just in terms of knowledge, but in building confidence, motivation, and resilience. There's something incredibly meaningful about watching a student go from struggling with a concept to mastering it and feeling proud of their progress.
My experience with students includes working as a Postsecondary Access Advisor with the Emily K Center, where I had the privilege of guiding high school students through the college preparation and application process. I've also worked in one-on-one and small group settings, supporting a diverse range of learners and helping them overcome both academic and personal barriers.
I earned my bachelor's degree from Saint Augustine's University and continued my education at North Carolina Central University, where I am currently pursuing my master's degree. These academic experiences have not only strengthened my subject knowledge but also deepened my commitment to educational equity and student empowerment.
I tutor various subjects, including English, writing, history, and college readiness skills. My favorite subject to tutor is around Essay Writing because it fosters critical thinking, creativity, and self-expression. I enjoy helping students develop their voice and confidence through writing and discussion.
My teaching philosophy centers around patience, encouragement, and creating a supportive learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. My tutoring style is interactive and student-centered, with a focus on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and celebrating every milestone along the way.
Outside of academics, I enjoy watching football, reading, critiquing films, playing with other people's dogs (I'm not ready for the responsibility of my own just yet), and running my nonprofit organization. These hobbies allow me to stay grounded, creative, and connected to the broader community, all of which inform and enrich the work I do with students.

Graduate Degree: North Carolina Central University - Master of Science, Public Administration
I enjoy watching football, reading, and critiquing films—activities that allow me to relax while also engaging my curiosity and critical thinking. Playing with other people’s dogs brings me joy without the current responsibility of having one of my own. One of my greatest passions outside of academics is running my nonprofit, which allows me to give back to the community and support causes I deeply care about. These interests keep me grounded, inspired, and connected to the world beyond the classroom.
