Faleya: Duval County tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology that is majoring in Forensic Psychology on the Licensure Track. Upon graduation, I plan to obtain my license as a clinical therapist so that I can provide treatment to women of color. I also head started an initiative that is dedicated towards raising awareness about the rates of African American women in the city of Chicago. I enjoy tutoring because I get a chance to help young girls and boys who may not have been afforded the same opportunities in education. I started tutoring while attending Augustana College in undergrad. There, I volunteered as a tutor at a liberal arts elementary school near campus. Afterwards, I also volunteered as a tutor at a program at my current school. I also have years of experience working with youth in different settings such as residential treatment, afterschool programs, and recovery centers. My favorites subjects to tutor are math and reading because I am most familiar with these subjects, and I personally enjoyed these subjects growing up.
