Certified Tutor

I have a strong background in tutoring and education, supported by my academic achievements and hands-on teaching experience. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, with minors in Economics and Computer Integrated Surgery. Throughout my academic career, I have actively engaged in research, leadership roles, and mentoring, equipping me with the skills to tutor in various subjects.

I was a Teaching Assistant at JHU for courses such as Mechatronics, where I guided students through lab work and troubleshooting in robotic system design. Additionally, I developed the curriculum for JHU's Python tutoring program under the PILOT (Peer-Led Team Learning) program, creating problem sets and structuring course outlines to enhance student engagement. These experiences refined my ability to teach technical concepts effectively.

Previously tutored students from elementary to high school in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and linear algebra. I adapted lessons to individual needs and helped implement remote learning methods during the COVID-19 pandemic. My teaching extends beyond structured roles, including mentoring young students in STEM as a FIRST Lego League Junior (FLL Junior) coach, where I guided children aged 6-10 through problem-solving challenges.

With experience in both classroom and one-on-one settings, I am skilled in adapting lessons to different learning styles. My ability to break down complex topics, foster engagement, and create structured learning strategies makes me a highly effective tutor across multiple subjects.

Hobbies

I love playing soccer and played throughout high school and at my college’s club! Also, I love to rock climb in at my local rock climbing centers. I think staying active in unique ways is both fun and rewarding personally. I picked up chess a few years ago and have really enjoyed learning more about the game, even if I lose just as much as I win. More academically, I love to design by CAD (computer-aided design) and to program. Making small robots and projects of the sort are a really fun hobby of mine. I have a recent project of making a marble maze with servos and a camera that can tilt the maze to solve itself!
