Certified Tutor

I still love teaching to this very day, even after 18 years (11 of those at the middle school level). It is the most exciting, unpredictable, and fulfilling job I could have ever wanted. (Even after spending seven years as a journalist before entering education).

I am a graduate of Kutztown University in Pennsylvania, with a bachelor's degree in Professional Writing, a master's degree in Secondary Education: English, and I am certified to teach grades 7-12. In addition to acting as the adviser of our school's student newspaper and yearbook, I have tutored students in a program called "After the Bell," to help them gain confidence in reading, writing, and critical thinking. I feel proudest when a student and I can find a connection to a story, a character, a scene that relates to them, and however we can relay that information into writing. I am a strong believer in patient education, understanding it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, but the greatest achievement is finding some pride within yourself. That's what it is all about. In whatever spare time is available, I love horror movies, baseball, drumming, poetry, and trying to make my sons laugh. So, how can I help you? You're the boss.
