Hello! My name is Amy Leochner, and I am an experienced educator with a passion for inspiring creativity, fostering a love of learning, and supporting students in their academic and artistic journeys. I am a certified teacher with credentials in Art (PreK-12), Early Childhood Education (PreK-3), World History (6-12), and English (5-12) from the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Additionally, I hold certifications as a Google Level I Educator and as a Gesell Child Development Testing Proctor. These qualifications allow me to tailor my teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners while integrating technology and developmental best practices.

Currently, I serve as an art teacher at Lakehoma Elementary School in Mustang, Oklahoma, where I teach Kindergarten through 4th grade. My teaching approach emphasizes creativity, exploration, and mastery of foundational art concepts, aligned with state and district standards. I also manage the school's website and create its yearbook, which highlights my organizational skills and ability to collaborate with both students and staff.

Previously, I taught first grade and kindergarten, gaining valuable experience in early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development. In 2015-2016, I was honored to be named Lakehoma Elementary Teacher of the Year, a testament to my dedication and impact as an educator.

My academic background includes a Master's of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Kansas, where I explored religion and ethics, particularly focusing on the experiences of women. I also earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Oklahoma, delving into the interconnected relationships between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Additionally, I hold a certificate in child development, emphasizing the importance of understanding growth and learning from birth to six years.
