Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Northwestern University (B.A.) and National Louis University (M.A.T.). I recently earned my Master's in Teaching with a concentration in Early Childhood Education through Teach for America, a nationally-renowned program dedicated to placing teachers in high-need school districts to ensure student success. I am certified in the states of Illinois and Georgia as an elementary school teacher (PK-5).

In my time in Teach for America, I taught early childhood education and have two years of classroom experience as a full-time teacher. I have also worked with students up to the 8th grade in all subjects in informal tutoring after school. I have also served as an admissions interviewer for Northwestern University.

I am extremely passionate about helping students become independent learners who look at academics as something to be excited about rather than afraid of. I also ran a bilingual classroom and supported migrant students in gaining English learning skills and have experience translating classwork and curriculum into Spanish for both students and parents. I have also worked extensively with special needs students and have adapted classwork and behavioral management styles so that all students, regardless of their needs, may be successful. I am a firm believer that education should be accessible to all students, and believe that all students have the capability to master any and all tasks given to them.
