Certified Tutor

I am a senior at American University studying Spanish Language and Environmental. I have 10+ years of Spanish learning and immersion, most recently spending a semester abroad in Ecuador, taking all my classes in the native language. I have two summers experience working with children as an Environmental Educator at a summer camp (ages 4-10). I have also tutored English to high school students whose first language is Spanish. I am passionate about language learning to develop cognitive learning. In my experience, practicing speaking in one-on-one sessions are the most effective to immerse students into a language, rather than mostly practicing grammar and memorization. I am a firm believer of making learning fun and engaging, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students.
