Certified Tutor

I graduated from Loyola University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Marketing. During college, I tutored students in Spanish, helping them prepare for exams, practice vocabulary, and organize and revise essays. As a native Spanish speaker who grew up in an ESL household, I understand the challenges and rewards of mastering a new language. My passion for education began in high school when I tutored ESL students from grades K-12. In addition to supporting them in math, reading, and writing, I acted as a bridge between their Spanish-speaking parents and teachers, ensuring clear communication about the child's progress. These early experiences instilled in me a strong belief that every student deserves access to quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Currently, I work as a substitute teacher for students from Pre-K through 12th grade, covering a wide range of subjects. I love this role because it allows me to engage with students of all ages, adapt to diverse classroom needs, and further develop my ability to manage classrooms effectively while building meaningful connections with students.

Growing up as an ESL student has given me firsthand insight into the importance of equitable access to education. This personal experience drives my passion for teaching Spanish and pursuing my ESL certification. I believe language learning not only opens doors but also empowers students to embrace their culture and communicate with confidence.

In my spare time, I enjoy running outdoors, baking to relax, and traveling whenever possible to explore new cultures and perspectives. These hobbies keep me grounded and inspire me to bring creativity and positive energy to my teaching.
