My teaching philosophy is everyone can learn new skills, it's just a matter of finding the right way to teach them.
My favorite thing about teaching is helping students learn and grow into independent learners who are proud of their achievements no matter how small. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Special Education at the University of Texas at El Paso. i am certified to teach students who are receiving Special Education services from Early Childhood through the 12th grade. I am also certified to teach General Education students who are in grades Kindergarten to the 6th grade. I worked as a teacher for 15 years and taught students with varying learning abilities and in all grade levels.
My favorite subject is Reading. I've always loved to read and I believe once a student learns how to read and comprehend what they are reading, it opens up the whole world for them. Reading is one of the most essential skills a person needs to be successful in life. This is why I love teaching students reading & comprehension skills.
Aside from teaching I own a vintage store and I enjoy hunting for and collecting interesting vintage items i can share with other people so they can enjoy them as well.

I own and run a vintage store and enjoy going to estate sales, swap meets, garage sales, and thrift stores in search of interesting vintage items to put in my store.
