Certified Tutor

When it comes to teaching or tutoring I focus on a person's understanding of a subject. Grades aren't everything, but they can show us specific topics that are not being taught in a way that meets student needs. Whether you feel like you're hitting a wall, or that your learning style is not integrated at your school, tutoring can be the perfect tool for an academic breakthrough. I believe that anything can be understood if it's taught in the right way, by the right person.
Math and science are my favorite subjects to teach. I have autism and it helps me to see 8 different ways to explain any topic. Overall I love seeing students become more confident. My biggest struggle growing up was with Math, but after I had the right tutor and then eventually the right teacher, everything suddenly made sense.
I have tutored students for 7 years, from children in kindergarten to adults in trade schools. I am currently attending Wake Tech Community College, for my associates in applied science. The majority of my tutoring experience is with special needs students.
Some of my other interests include painting, playing my clarinet and saxophone, reading, and crocheting!
