Kim: Newark tutor
Certified Tutor
With over 20 years of teaching experience in a wide range of settings, from public to private and even homeschool, I have dedicated my career to helping students from kindergarten to 8th grade thrive in their educational journeys. Currently, I specialize in working with students in grades k-8 who struggle with reading, using the Wilson Structured Literacy Program, which is designed to support those with dyslexia or reading challenges. My passion for tutoring stems from seeing the joy and confidence in students when they grasp concepts that were previously difficult, simply because they were taught in a way that clicked for them.
As a certified educator in Georgia with a degree in elementary education, a master's in educational leadership, and specialized training as a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner and Orton-Gillingham Instructor, I am committed to providing personalized, effective instruction that empowers students to succeed.

I have a passion for traveling the world and immersing myself in different cultures, as it allows me to gain new perspectives and broaden my understanding of diverse ways of life. Whether I’m discovering unique traditions, sampling local cuisine, or engaging with people from different backgrounds, I find travel to be an enriching experience. I also love getting lost in a good book, as reading allows me to explore new ideas and expand my knowledge. Above all, I treasure the time spent with my family, creating lasting memories and enjoying the simple joys of life together.
