I am a graduate of Iowa State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Food Science, with a Cereal Science emphasis [in layman's terms Corn]. I know lots about breaking corn down into its components of germ [the source of corn oil], fiber and starch!

I currently work as a Assistant Site Coordinator for an After School Program where I get to assist students k-5 with their homework on a daily basis.

So let's talk about why I'm passionate about tutoring! I have always had a deep love for children, and one of my innate gifts is the ability to encourage others. I firmly believe that with a little encouragement, anyone can do and become anything! In a world where voices often emphasize limitations, I strive to be the voice that highlights potential and possibility. As TeTe Sonya to 13 nieces and nephews, as well as numerous children in my church family and community, I've made it my mission to serve as that encouraging voice whenever I can.

During the pandemic, I had the opportunity to support a couple of my nephews, who were in 4th and 5th graders, with their on-line schooling. I found great joy in providing them with the support they needed to navigate their virtual learning environment. Now, I am eager to extend the same level of support and encouragement to your family and your child.
