I believe the purpose of education is to help one reach a level of self-actualization which was the term created by Abraham Maslow in his 1943 paper, "A Theory of Human Motivation." Self-actualization is the achievement of one's highest potential. Education at its most foundational level is teaching an individual to read, write, and do arithmetic. Without the ability to read or write, a person is limited to what he/she can learn from life experiences. Without any sort of formal education, I don't believe self-actualization is possible because even the most educated are often unable to obtain or achieve their highest potential.

I consider myself to be a bookworm. I love to read and have all my life. I also love music and singing and miss being in a choir. I played the flute in my school years. I am self-taught on piano and guitar. I enjoy learning languages and I use Duolingo every day to improve my Spanish fluency. I can also speak and understand some French, German, Italian, and Hebrew and dabble in learning all those languages on the Duolingo platform. I love animals and consider myself an animal advocate. I have rescued many dogs, cats and a few birds. Animals give me great joy when I'm interacting with them and I have a small Chiweenie who is now 11 years old that I rescued back in 2014. In high school, I was very athletic and played Varsity softball and basketball. I also enjoyed riding my bike, playing tennis, bowling, and lifting weights. I'm very artistic and I enjoy calligraphy, drawing, and painting.
