Cecilia Conway: Oshawa tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm interested in helping middle and high schoolers build confidence reading and writing. I want to demystify the writing process, and show that strong analysis and articulate writing come from trusting your own voice. I love reading and writing, and hate the fact that so many other people think they're bad writers.
I have a degree in Linguistics and Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh, a Russell Group university. In college, I gained a strong understanding of English grammar, but also insight into how language is used in everyday life. After graduation, I found work as an editor and proofreader, helping authors with disabilities edit manuscripts, monitoring textual cohesion and offering narrative feedback.
I would love to apply these skills for a school-aged audience too. I can show you tools to become a better writer (and reader), including vocabulary tips, essay help, tailored feedback, and more, depending on your needs. There's no magic formula to being a good writer and confident reader. The most important thing you bring to it is you!
