As a seasoned educator, I have spent the past two decades advocating for the retention, academic achievement, and career readiness of diverse groups of learners. I am a committed transformational leader with experience in K-12 education, higher education and the non-profit sector. I have a proven track recorded of to supporting students in taking full advantage of the gift of education, especially within the context of an equity-based framework which affirms an individual's unique learning style and talents.
After earning a Bachelor of Science from the University of Missouri, I started my career as an educator as a Teach For America Corp member in Houston, Texas. I have also earned a Master's in Special Education from the University of Kansas with a focus on inclusive teaching practices within the secondary setting to supporting students with exceptionalities.
One of my greatest passions and achievements as a secondary school-based administrator has been the success of building out a comprehensive transition program that focuses on self-awareness, self-determination and self-advocacy with the ultimate goal of students successfully transition from high school to a productive adult life to include matriculation to and through college.

I am always looking for new learning adventures and ways to engage with others. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, long walks, finding new ice cream spots and leisure time along the shores of Lake Michigan as well as reading, scrapbooking and most recently I have started to learn how to quilt.
