Certified Tutor

I am a former elementary educator with experience in public and private preschools. I hold a masters in education from American University.
I enjoy tutoring because it's a wonderful way for students to gain confidence in skills and feel prepared in school. I understand from a teaching perspective how it can be hard for educators to meet the specific niche needs of each student, and as a tutor I can help eliminate those gaps. Since leaving the classroom full time I have been tutoring on an off for the last year with a focus on helping students practice concepts and skills from the year prior so that they feel confident in the start of the school year. I enjoy tutoring in math and english especially for early elementary ages. In my spare time I run a book club, volunteer with local organizations, create art and spend time with my friends.
