Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of California State University at Long Beach. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. I also completed my graduate degree at Grand Canyon University earning an M.Ed in Secondary Education. I am a licenced educator in the state of Utah endorsed in Journalism, English Language Arts and English as a Second Language or ESL. Since graduation, I taught four years at a private school in St. George Utah where I instructed in all subjects, including Pre-Algerbra, Constitutional History, English, Art and Science. I then went to work in the public school system starting at Snow Canyon Middle School where I taught 8th and 9th Grade Language Arts for ten years. In 2022 I switched to Snow Canyon High School where I now teach Language Arts. I also teach motion picture screewriting in the Digital Film Department at Utah Tech University.
During my time in the public school system, I have worked with the Special Education Department to implement Individual Education Programs for students under my tutelage. This has lent me an enormous amount of experience in helping all levels of learners. While I teach a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Literature, and History. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, mountain biking, and skiing. I also both build and play electric guitars.
