I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I am a current undergrad at Princeton University who plans to become a professor. Studying math or literature has always made me happy, and I want to help others find enjoyment in their learning too. After helping classmates of all levels in nearly every subject throughout my schooling, I had my first formal teaching/tutoring assignment as a high school senior when teachers asked me to help lead my school's SAT prep lessons. Later, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, I paused my education and gained further teaching/tutoring experience, first in a religious setting, and later as a coach for my high school's math team. I love helping students develop their problem solving skills in math and their critical reading and writing skills in English, and I am also passionate about helping students prepare the best college application possible. But no matter the subject, I enjoy forming connections with my students so that learning is not something they dread. This should be fun!

Hobbies

Sports have recently left me heartbroken, so I now read books, go thrifting for cool clothes and books, practice creative writing to prepare me to write my own book, or exercise—while listening to an audiobook—to avoid thinking about the failures of my favorite teams. I also spend a lot of time hopelessly trying to get my younger brothers to practice math or reading with me, but somehow we always seem to end up playing board games instead.
