Tanya: Westchester tutor
Certified Tutor
I have twenty years of experience teaching children with disabilities grades 1-6. I foster a positive learning environment whether general education, self-contained, or small group instruction (SETSS) to achieve student success. I incorporate a variety of teaching strategies inclusive of technology integration, class discussions, active and cooperative learning environments to deliver instruction. Students' needs are addressed through accommodations, modifications, behavior management techniques as outlined by the Individualized Education Plan. Being a good communicator, who is flexible, encouraging and enthusiastic helps in my students' progress. Having good management skills has allowed me to be successful when working with students with ADD/ADHD, autism, speech and hearing impairments, emotional/behavior and learning disabilities.
