Certified Tutor

I am currently studying at Loyola University Chicago to become a secondary education in mathematics major. I have been a tutor for three plus years now. I am a tutor in mathematics, English, history, and science. I tutor mathematics K-12, English, history and science for grades K-8. Growing up, I used to take care of two boys. I started when I was in middle school. Not only did I get to grow up with them, but I also had the opportunity to work with them.

One of the biggest responsibilities of me was to make sure they have completed their homework assignments and that they had understood them. I would always help them with their homework assignments and make sure they were getting all their work done. Going into high school and having to make the decision of what I wanted to major in, I realized that I love working with kids. Ever since then, I realized that I have a passion for teaching and making sure my students are successful. I work with all my students individually to ensure the best quality of work to be done. Each student can ask questions, learn information designed specifically for them, and have one on one communication with me. It has beens shown that working one on one with each student has significant change in their education.

The one-on-one support for the students will significantly impact the students learning. Hearing that "oh" or "ah" moment fills my heart knowing that my student has understood the information. During their time working with me, students have understood their strengths in education. Some students believe that a subject is their worst subject because they do not understand it or have many issues with it. However, getting the right help and being able to understand the concepts and information presented to them, may allow them to pursue future careers that they may have never thought about before. When a student understands the material given, they are ecstatic and become more interested in the subjects. However, not only are the student's ecstatic, but I am as well that my students are striving in learning the subject and improving their understanding.
