I received my Bachelor of Arts from The University of Rhode Island in Elementary Education as well as Marine Affairs. While I was there I was the Foundation Representative of URI Kappa Delta Phi Honor Society and had the honor of being the Alan Shawn Feinstein College of Education commencement speaker of 2017. I also have my Master's in Education from Capella University with a specialization in Reading and Literacy. I have my SEI Endorsement so I am able to differentiate learning for learners from diverse backgrounds.
I have experience being a lead elementary classroom teacher for 5 years and have a passion to make learning fun and engaging. I recently published an article for the educational journal Literacy Today about learning in the online setting titled "From the Unknown to the Reimagined".
I have extensive experience preparing students to take standardized tests and have exceeded district-level goals for ELA academic performance.
I believe all students have the ability to take ownership of their learning and in doing so, reach their fullest potential.
