My passion for helping students began with the struggles of a close family member. My goal in teaching is to make the time that a student is with me one of the best parts of their day! My teaching career began at a private boarding school for tennis players and then I transitioned into the public school system where I have taught for 22 years. Middle school and high school is where I have found may calling, but I have tutored and worked with elementary students also. While teaching in the public school system I have worked with all level of students in Exceptional Education as well as students struggling with motivation and engagement. My favorite part of tutoring and teaching is being able to work individually with a student to enable their strengths to shine! The areas that I enjoy tutoring are reading, writing, and study skills at all levels, and elementary math. I specifically enjoy working with students in developing he writing process which can be challenging at home.
I have a B.A in Sociology from the University of South Florida and have over 15 graduate hours in education.
Tutoring should be a goal oriented time that will transform the difficult into digestible and achievable results.
