Certified Tutor

I am currently a psychology major at WSU. I would love to become a clinical psychologist as I aspire to help those in need, which is one reason I love tutoring.
I work with students at a local high school as an AVID tutor. In AVID classes they have designated time for homework help - called TRF's - and which is where I come in! I aid in whatever ways possible.

When tutoring I normally try prompting with questions to begin with that spark understanding and critical thinking, but if this isn't beneficial I walk through the problems steps and explain the process. Once we have gone through at least one problem I like doing at least one more to demonstrate the concept and know the student understands the process.
