My eclectic background has equipped me to facilitate student success and excellence as an Educator. I sincerely care about the development of the whole student, realizing that students arrive at institutions of higher learning from an array of cultures with different levels of preparation. I am devoted to providing the opportunity for students to succeed and to accomplish their educational and career goals. I assess learning styles and ultimately utilize various innovative tools to ensure the students' success.
As an educator, my commitment in taking an active approach and obligation to helping students follow the path that will lead them to their goals begins with mentoring. My goal is to educate students and assist them in developing their own learning interests and create an environment that facilitates critical thinking that establishes a learner-centered environment with transferrable marketable skills and abilities that will prepare them to compete in the workforce. This means instructing a diverse population of learners at different academic levels. In particular, my work history and experience teaching professional development has made me aware of the needs and interests of a culturally diverse student body. As a result, I realize that student success depends on student retention which means actively promoting the learning goals by deploying a variety of methods, tools, and resources to identify, reach, and educate students. I provide ongoing consultation with community and state partners to establish and implement strategies to improve educational outcomes by deploying evidence-based practices.
