Hello! I am a first-generation student at Duke Kunshan University working towards a degree in Behavioral Science/Psychology, I am culturally Cuban and currently studying Chinese Mandarin. I have lived throughout the US and have passions in literature, history, and education. I am a big proponent of a culturally-relavant pedagogy and support the use of conversational-style assessments of subject understanding to determine learning. I believe that the most important thing for any learner is "learning how to learn," and cultivating internal motivation and satisfaction from their progress. I have worked primarily with middle-school students but I really look forward to working with high schoolers as they look forward to their entry in the world of higher education.
