As a public librarian, I hold a master's degree in Library and Information Science and a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. I originally planned to become a reading teacher but fell in love with librarianship after being hired at my local public library. I have now enjoyed working in libraries for over 30 years.
As one would expect, I am an avid reader. I have written a regular newspaper column and have also written numerous successful grant applications for libraries.
I have experience teaching a variety of ages. I work with children ages 4-12 at my church. I am also a mother who was very active in my child's education. In my profession, I have taught and trained adults. My class evaluations from adults frequently indicated that students found me to be especially patient and thorough.
I believe that reading, writing, and literacy enhance life in so many ways. I want to share my love of language arts with others and help them reach their aspirations.

I love to write. I keep a personal journal and I like to send handwritten cards and letters to friends and family. Calligraphy is one of my hobbies but I have yet to master it. My family and I have lots of fun playing board games and trivia which helps keep our minds sharp! One of my guilty pleasures is “reality” TV.
