Michael: Greenburgh tutor
Certified Tutor
I began tutoring in a formal setting over 10 years ago with a national education program during my final two years of high school. I worked in-person with kindergarten through high school students on after school math and reading programs. Since, I've continued instruction mostly with college-aged students in both one-on-one settings and group sessions. I have instructor experience with courses such as Sports Psychology, Exercise Physiology, Human Musculoskeletal Anatomy, Applied Clinical Anatomy, and Upper/Lower Extremity Evaluation. At both Baylor University and Purdue University, I have also facilitated student clinical learning and helped students prepare for practical proficiency tests within athletic training education programs. Presently, my tutoring focuses on Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, and Sports Medicine. My favorite subject to tutor is Anatomy and Physiology as I enjoy helping students make connections between basic anatomy concepts and practical applications. My style includes learning through taking classroom material and applying it to real world scenarios to breakdown and connect the concepts. My passion for helping students comes from my desire to promote education through practical application. My goal is for every student of mine to understand why what they are learning is important and how they will use it in the future.
Currently, I am a dual PhD student in Health & Kinesiology and Gerontology at Purdue University. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Michigan while also completing a Minor in Business Administration. I also have a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from Baylor University. At each stop, I have been extensively involved with research and have significant experience in scientific writing. I am happy to work with you on research writing and editing or understanding the general scientific process as well. Outside of academia, I maintain clinical work through my athletic training license and have experience as part of sports medicine teams in both the NFL and Olympics. In my spare time, I enjoy photography, cycling, and traveling to explore the great outdoors.
