Rae Ann: University of Louisville tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a strongly dedicated and passionate tutor devoted to helping students succeed while ensuring that their individual educational goals are met. It is a tremendous opportunity and an honor to help students advance academically. As a Special Education Teacher for 35 years, I have gained experience working with students of various disabilities in grades 1-8 teaching reading, phonics, writing, math, and content area subjects.
My education is comprised of a Bachelors of Science in Special Education in the areas of Emotional Disturbance and Learning Disabilities for grades K-12 that includes a Masters of Science for Emotional Disturbance from Southern Connecticut State University. Other educational acknowledgements include a Reading Endorsement and TESOL Certification along with a Bachelors of Arts in Community Services from Seattle University. Favorite subjects interested in tutoring encompass reading, phonics, and writing, yet elementary math and content area study skills support can be done too.
Enjoyment stems from improving students' reading and writing abilities as well as promoting their overall learning experience. My teaching philosophy and tutoring style focuses on each student's individual growth by providing assistance and enrichment that accomplishes lasting results. I believe in supporting the discovery of reaching one's potential and personal best with a positive and supportive approach.
