I grew up in Michigan and did my undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I am now a medical student at Northwestern University in Chicago. In college, I was a tutor for physics and organic chemistry, as well as a camp counselor for children with congenital heart conditions. I tutor biology, physics, english, and standardized test preparation. My tutoring style involves student-directed and collaborative learning. I am flexible to students' needs and goals, and prefer to teach in a way that encourages students to think independently. I also enjoy visual learning, mnemonics, and other active ways to remember complicated concepts. Part of what attracted me to the medicine was the collaborative, team-oriented nature of the field, as well as the focus on mentorship and life-long learning. My amazing mentors and teachers got me where I am today and I am excited to pass forward what they taught me through tutoring and mentorship.
