Are you in elementary or middle school at the moment and frustrated with reading or reading related assignments? Can't get the juices flowing for a writing assignment? I can help! I can teach you tools that will change that!
You are the reason I chose to work through Varsity Tutors. I love teaching and I love to work one on one and in small groups.
My favorite areas to teach are: READING (K-8) including but not limited to vocabulary, word recognition and comprehension and WRITING (K-8) including but not limited to spelling, beginning writing and writing assignments.
These are my favorite subjects because I believe there is a lot of overlap in reading and writing and that success in these areas creates a strong foundation for what lies ahead in and out of school. Strengthening these skills also builds confidence. As Joe Namath once said, "When you have confidence you can have a lot of fun. And when you have fun, you can do amazing things.".
I am a graduate from the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I earned a Reading Teacher Certificate from Marquette University. Among other things I have been a teacher, a substitute, a volunteer and I am a mom. Throughout my life experiences I have compiled a collection of reading and writing strategies and tools and tips. I can't wait to share them with you. Many are "hands-on" and easy to save for use on future assignments. Many are "visual organizers" which can help untangle confusion. Let's get started!

I love nature and being outside even in all kids of weather. I like to water ski, paddle board, sail and windsurf in the summer. In winter I like to snowshoe and downhill ski. My favorite year round outdoor activities are walking/hiking and horseback riding. When I am inside I like to read with a hot cup of coffee next to the fireplace, do puzzles and do various DIY projects.
